Here are some samples of my work as an arranger and lyricist. I want to thank all of my amazingly talented friends and colleagues who contributed their time and efforts to make these recordings. If anyone would like an actual CD of these tracks (complete with adorable cover art), please email me and I'll be sure to get you one. Medleys: Audition Medley: A musical answer to the question, "When the audition breakdown asks for a piece that shows range, what should I sing?" (performed by Lisa Rothauser)
Popera Medley: Have you ever wondered what would happen if the world's greatest coloratura soprano decided to release a "crossover" album of pop hits? It might sound something like this... (performed by Cara Johnston [and yes, she is actually singing all of those notes])
Zing/Ding/Strings Medley: This arrangement celebrates the joy of making sound effects; who doesn't love some onomatopoeia now and then? (performed by Stephan Stubbins and Emily Whyte)
Opera Medley: Instead of slogging through an opera compilation, why not just click here to hear the greatest soprano arias of all time in under four minutes?(performed by Stephanie Weiss)
Old Friends Medley: Two great songs about friendship (performed by Amy Rogers and me)
Parodies: A Jason Robert Brown Song (Last 5 Years Parody): A meditation on the difficulties of performing his works, set to the tune of "A Summer in Ohio" (performed by Nora Edie)
Popular (Wicked Parody): Okay, I know that K-Chen is no longer in the show, but in my heart she still is. (performed by Breanna Pine)
Dance of the Vampires Parody: Now, there have been some bad vampire musicals since this one, but none of them have approached the sheer lunacy of Michael Crawford singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" (performed by Alison Mahoney, Sevrin Anne Mason, Heather Gladis and me, with Stephan Stubbins as Michael Crawford)
Taylor (A Response): Many of you know the great Goldrich/Heisler song about the latte boy, but do you know his side of the story? (performed by me)
Mamma, See Ya! (Mamma Mia! Parody): A tribute to the show that just keeps on goin' (performed by Nora Edie and Jennifer Neale)
La Boheme Parody: Set to the tune of "Si, mi chiamano Mimi" and "Quando m'en vo," this piece attempts to figure out why Baz Luhrmann thought doing Bohème on Broadway was a good idea (performed by Stephanie Weiss)
Arrangements: Anyone Can Whistle/Being Alive: Two Sondheim greats blended together. (performed by Jodie Bentley)
I Wish it So (trio): This is a favorite song of mine by Marc Blitzstein, here arranged for three female voices (performed by Danielle Grabianowski, Ann Rooney and Bianca Carragher)
Rhythm Medley: A choral arrangement of two famous Gershwin songs; who could ask for anything more? (Heather Gladis and Robin Dull, soloists. Ensemble: Lisa Anzelmo, Jodie Bentley, me, Bianca Carragher, Matthew Deming, Robin Dull, Heather Gladis, Alison Mahoney, Sevrin Anne Mason, Kris Moon, Jennifer Neale, Traci Pickerell and Stephan Stubbins)
Corner of the Sky: a jazz choir version of a Stephen Schwartz classic. (performed by Lisa Anzelmo, Jodie Bentley, me, Bianca Carragher, Matthew Deming, Robin Dull, Heather Gladis, Alison Mahoney, Sevrin Anne Mason, Kris Moon, Jennifer Neale, Traci Pickerell and Stephan Stubbins)
